In Jewish thought, Psalm 91 conveys the themes of God's protection and rescue from danger. The Talmud (Shevu'ot 15b) calls this psalm the "song of plagues" (Shir Shel pega'im or Shir Shel nega'im), for "he who recites with faith in God, will be helped by him in time of danger ".

PSALM 91

91:1 He who dwells under the protection of the Most High, and shelters himself in the shadow of the Almighty,
91:2 Let him say to the Lord, "You are my refuge, my stronghold, my God, in whom I place my trust!"
91:3 For it is he who preserves you from the snare of the fowler, from the murderous plague.
91:4 He covers you with his vast quills; under his wings you find a refuge: his kindness is a shield and a breastplate.
91:5 You need not fear the terrors of the night, nor the arrows that fly by day,
91:6 nor the pestilence that walks in the dark, nor the epidemic that wreaks havoc at noonday.
91:7 Let a thousand fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; evil shall not overtake you.
91:8 You will only see it with your eyes, you will witness the reward of the wicked.
91:9 Because [you said], "The Lord is my refuge!" In the Most High you have placed your shelter.
91:10 No calamity shall befall you, no plague shall come near your tent;
91:11 for to his angels he has commissioned to protect you in all your ways.
91:12 On their arms they will carry you, so that your foot does not strike against any stone.
91:13 You will tread on the jackal and the viper, you will tread on the lion cub and the serpent.
91:14 "For [says the Lord] he is attached to me, and I want to save him from danger; I want to increase him, because he knows my name.
91:15 He calls me and I answer him; I am with him in distress, I deliver him and fill him with honor.
91:16 I satisfy him with long days, and make him enjoy my salvation.
